Maybelline BB Cream and Lippy

A cousin of mine, who's leaving for Jeddah tonight, set a coffee meet up somewhere in Ortigas for a one last huddle. I left the office earlier than expected so I decided to check out some fancy make ups as I kill time. I remember that I'm running our of aqua gel foundation so I headed straight to Maybelline make up display. Just to let you know, I'm an ardent Maybelline customer ever since college. It all started when I bought myself a few pieces of their Water Shine Diamonds lipsticks out of my weekly allowance and got hooked with it all the way.

So that night, my eyes first landed to their Clear Smooth BB Cream which packaging is almost similar to my old aqua gel foundation. Something popped in my head when I read the words "BB cream" as it reminded me of that last make up workshop I attended for a different brand.

The goodness of using BB cream is that it combines the benefits of skin care, make-up, and sun block in a cream. This one got SPF26 and aims to provide multi-benefits such as it moisturizes, brightens, clears, refines, conceals, evens, smoothens and protects our skin. The lady staff even told me that it's better if we also apply some just before hitting the sack. Remember it's a skin care product too so it helps rejuvenate the skin as we sleep. Let's see the results in a month from now.

I chose the Natural shade which looks luminous on my skin tone. All you need is a pea sized cream on your left hand. Use a sponge if you must. I noticed that it doesn't get dry easily so it gives you ample time to apply evenly on face and neck area. It gave me a soft powdery finish, so light that it doesn't feel like carrying a make up at all. It also helped me reduce blemishes and redness which is my typical problem especially if I only get 4 hours of sleep. (Yeah, that's how much I needed more time to do ALL THE THINGS I wanna do!) I applied once around 8am today and it went fine until the rest of my working hours.

This is one thing why I stick to a product like this - I want a make up that can last the whole day. There are hectic days when I forget to do a retouch and I don't want to scare people with an oily nose tip or forehead. (I don't mean to be "maarte" ha, but really, would you be comfortable to "beso" someone with your greasy face? Aminin! He he!) So there, Maybelline BB Cream is 4 out of 5 for me.

I also decided to add my lippy collection with this WaterShine Pure P24, a girly pink colour that looks one shade darker than a bubble gum. I'm really into moisturizing lipstick, aside from the aid I get from having chapped lips due to strong air conditioning in the office. This one doesn't have shimmers or sparkles.. just one sweet pink lips. I really suggest you try one.

Pink lippies are my latest craze so I'm such a one happy Momma that night. ^^ Mind you, I got these items for Php 650 which isn't bad, right? I've been using my aqua gel for a little over two years and I believe same thing goes for my BB cream.

How about you, what's your latest addition to your kikay kit?
I would love to accept suggestions on pink lippies too. Feel free to drop one. :)

**In case you ask how did my coffee meet up go with cousin, well, it was a night of hilarious revelations. And I thought there's nothing more to hear after having our family reunion weeks ago. It's fun catching up with him but we were both teary when we parted. (OFW chronicles)**

Much Love,

  1. Hi there, saw your post on FBW. I saw the vid of Judy on youtube comparing Loreal to Maybelline BB CREAM, and I'm more than convince to never ever buy this Maybelline BBCream. Loreal's seamlessly blend with any skin tone that almost look like transparent but with total smooth, even coverage concealing every spot.

    1. I haven't seen that video but will do a research. Maybelline is owned by L'oreal so I believe they are both OK depending on skin tone and reaction, except that the latter is more pricey. L'oreal hair products are the best! :)

    1. Haha yeah, I cringed a bit when I heard that! Sabi kasi it helps remove blemishes as our skin rejuvenates daw overnight. I wish to try but better not. :)

  7. I'm doing a project BB cream on my blog, and have tried quite a few (Korean) brands. So far, Missha is the best for me.

Oh, and I bought a Maybelline lip balm earlier today. Will blog about it soon. :)

  8. OneGutsyMom, First... I love the ambiance of your site... :')

I've been seeing this BB Cream often but I haven't tried it, the one that I am using now is the Tony Moly BB Cream. Too bad I do not have any Maybelline products in my stash. I think I should try now.

Have you chosen a pink Lippie on my post? :p

    xoxo, Sammy
