It's been raining cats and dogs since last week and this bed weather would rather want me to stay under the sheets and play with my kid. Besides, we were both sick for three days so I don't want to risk her health by going out today. Talk about last week, we were so happy to experience the Great Northern Sale. It's funny to hear the cab driver's comment when we asked him to take us to SM North. It goes something like: "Nagsawa na po siguro kayo sa Megamall, Ma'am?". LOL! He is quick to assume because we live in Mandaluyong where a lot of malls are situated yet we wanted to go somewhere far.
Like I said in my previous post, SM North can accommodate thousands of shoppers during sale events and the bumper to bumper traffic proves it all. However, the impatience caused by the traffic in EDSA was immediately replaced with BIG smiles. It's difficult to frown once you spotted stores that give as high as 70% discount! It was also a good opportunity to shop for Christmas presents as early as now. I am quite thrifty with my personal needs but I didn't mind at all when I shopped for my little girl! I am such a spoiler Mom! We got all her clothes from Osh Kosh. They were up to 50% so I really can't let that pass. ^^ I bought myself a pair of sandals from Cabrelli which is half the price, a few additions to my make ups and undershirts for hubby's work uniforms from SM Department Store. Glad that it didn't take me that long to pay in the cashier's area. I noticed too that men's section is less crowded so overall, the shopping experience was fun. My little girl enjoyed the loud music at The Block Atrium, she kept running and dancing with some kids.
Of course after shopping, the next stop is to feed our rumbling tummies. That was around 3pm yet most restaurants are still full. We saw a free table in Classic Savory resto so we settled in since we liked our food experience before. If I'm not mistaken, I was on my second trimester of pregnancy when we tried it in Anonas Branch. My lil' one took her menu as if checking if there's milk listed there. :-)
They serve delectable Chinese foods. They were first established in Escolta in 1950s which originally started as panciteria. After over fifty years, the family decided to name it as Classic Savory.
This is mostly everyone's all time favorite, the Classic Savory Chicken, mainly because of its tenderness and juiciness. The meat however isn't that tasteful for me unlike the skin but the gravy saves it all. It doesn't seem like any fast food gravy.
These bite-sized crunchy Shanghai rolls paired with their special hot sauce can already sustain you for lunch.
Hubby and I both love their Long Life Pancit Canton. I wasn't expecting that my lil' one will like it too. The sauce is overflowing in this picture but was just about right when you mix it with the noodles. We forgot how big this order is and it took them a while to prepare, so more than half of it was taken home as we were already full when it was served.
These pictures below were taken while waiting for the Pancit and it was freezing cold inside. (I looked so pale as my lipstick has been washed.) The rain poured continuously in the afternoon so we started to worry on how to get home. Nevertheless, it was a great shopping and food experience during the Great Northern sale. Reached home around 7pm and thankfully the traffic behaved well.

Savory is good but not all branches serve good food. The one in Ever Gotesco commonwealth is almost always empty. But yeah, I like their pancit too hehehe
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I've last eaten in Savory.. :) My dad used to always buy a whole chicken from Savory 'cause we just love how juicy and flavorful it is. Anyway, your little angel looks so adorabe.. ^^

Tried Savory once, the one in SM San Lazaro. Food was okay but the preparation time was soooooo long we already lost our appetite when the food arrived, to think we were the only customers. We had to call the attention of the waiters 2x because we taught our orders were forgotten. We waited for almost an hour and that to me is very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteMy son loves Savory's pancit canton. Actually, he loves pancit canton per se. He'll choose that over spaghetti any day. :)
ReplyDeleteDuring special occasions we always have Savory delivered right at our doorstep.
