"Are You Game?" - Women's Health Event at BGC

DSC_0140

Today is one big achievement for me! Being a part of this outdoor event hosted by Women's Health inspired
me a lot to maintain a balance and healthy lifestyle. I've had issues losing weight for over a year and really, I don't know where to start my goals. I've started with jogging but apparently it only led to compromising my knee joints. I've also planned enrolling in a nearby gym but it never ever happened. When I'm frustrated with my clothes especially when going to work, I always blame it to what I ate in the past. But this day made a difference and I now commit myself to this long term plan. Yes, I want to be fit and healthy again!

I was so enthusiastic to join because of the hot workouts they organized namely Acro Yoga, TRX Body Blast and RIP Training, Model's Runway, Cardio mash Up, FTX Urban Rebound Kangoo Jumps and Techno Rave. They also prepared activities like Consultations, Food Preparation Demo, Medicine Ball Circuit Training, Kettleball Training, Surf Machine, Bull Riding and Bungee Trampoline. Who can't say no to these right? And this is not even a contest. I was there to learn, experience and have fun and it was all worth it regardless of the scorching 2pm call time at the BGC Amphitheater. I was so in front of the line when registration started to think that I went there only by myself.

Gatorade Low Carb greeted me and for the first time, this drink tasted so good to me that I can finish a whole bottle in less than 2 minutes. I tried both lemon and grape flavors. Healthy thirst quenchers! These questions are so intended to me and of course you know how I answered that with conviction! Let's get it on! I met two girls that day named Jenna and Anya who were both working on medical fields. This is what's interesting with social events - meeting new people!

This lady below seems to challenge me huh? *kidding* Honestly, I really wanted to try yoga especially the AntiGravity. I spoke with one of their representatives and said that it is not necessary to be physically fit to do aerial yoga and the hammocks are safe in case you worry if it can't support your weight. The hammock acts like a soft trapeze. BeyondYoga offers this class which will allow you to realign your body and increase flexibility. Check out www.igobeyondyoga.com for their dance or yoga classes and packages.

The event started with acro yoga and was so thrilled to see these two ladies doing their stunts!

Jenna being interviewed by Lara, Editor-in-chief of Women's Health magazine, for their own version of biggest loser. Wow, if Jenna passed this one, she will have her personal trainer and free months of gym membership all expense courtesy of WH! That's so cool and we wish you luck girl!

Here's the bungee trampoline which I will never try even if there's a prize! Ha ha!
It looked very enticing but I'm afraid that I might bounce to the wrong direction.

Surfing without the waves. Perfect for those who don't wanna get a tan.
Below is the TRX Suspension Training. This for me is the hard core one.
If you want something that will help you make lean rather than getting bulky, I suggest you try this.

The three of us decided to attend the cooking demo while waiting for our Model's Runway workout. The chef prepared Mediterranean Herb Potato Salad, Penne Pasta Salad wuth Spinach and Tomatoes; and Curried Deviled Eggs in less than thirty minutes. McCormick's Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary and Garlic are the super spices used in these healthy meals. Of course the best part is the taste test and I was impressed that with that little amount of time, healthy foods have been prepared.

The model's runway workout is a perfect dose. I thought we will only do walking, projecting, do the proper postures but it's all about what models do to maintain sexy arms and shoulders, tone your legs, flatten lower stomach, etc. We did side bends, lower abdominal and  push ups- all about core exercise. I've been sweating all the way for 40 minutes and I love it!

I also did the cardio dance and enjoyed all the dance steps up to the refrain. The beat allowed me to move freely. It's fun to sway your hips and do the sexy grind! Oh how I wish I can do it more often. I was just two steps away from Sam Pinto, Daiana Meneses and Bianca King during the cardio dance. Just seeing them in their simplest make up made me more determined to become sexy. Whoop!

One thing that I regret this day though is not making it to the Kangoo jumps workout. With this current weight, I know it's more difficult to balance in that jumping gadget but I really wish I did try. Well, I actually attempted but the pairs left were only at size 11.
Thank you Women's Health for letting me experience this event. I'll see you again on any upcoming ones and a monthly copy of your magazine will surely be on hand. Thanks also to the generous sponsors for giving us lotsa lotsa freebies! ♥
