Great Finds at Cotton On Kids

Cotton On Kids

How the temperature rises in this country during the months of March until May shouldn't be new to us, but even so, it seems like we're still not used to this kind of weather. We still react or even overreact when the office air-condition cannot support the required coldness and it's more difficult to work when you're literally sweating from head to toe. Wait, did I just describe myself? Ha ha! So one thing that could help us in "hot" situation is to choose proper clothing - something really comfortable and light. Adults can somehow manage the heat by just taking a cold shower or buying cold drinks but kids can't. So when hubby suggested to go to Trinoma one weekend, I remembered the newly-opened Cotton On Kids store. I've seen a few of my co-Moms' Instagram photos and I really want to get some pairs for my daughter.

Cotton On Kids

As usual, my ninja self overpowered me so I took photos discreetly. I fell in love with these colors as soon as we stepped in. They all looked like cotton candies clothing edition. Whut? They have almost everything you need this summer season plus they're on SALESuddenly hyperventilates
I did all the sorting part while I left Daphne with her Dad and Lola. Little did I know that there's a corner spot where kids could watch cartoons. I was calling her attention so to check what size suits her but she's glued like that. They seem to have smaller sizes because we got size 5 for tops and 6 for shorts. Or is she that tall/big for her age?

She finally joined us choose her shorts and we picked that denim ones, priced at P899 (not on sale). We got her pink and yellow tops for two for P800 (sale). Quite a steal! Then she went back to her seat like she's just watching at home. What other stores offer entertainment corner for kids? This is really helpful to us mothers.

I was  supposed to check the watch displays but my hubby's too excited to go to his favorite stores. Overall, Cotton On Kids is a must visit store in Trinoma. With a spacious shop and neat visual merchandise, you'll surely not leave with empty paper bags. Their sales staff are pleasant and very accommodating too.

Gelatissimo

The cold weather yesterday didn't stop me from trying out the yummy gelatos from Gelatissimo. Funny but I already knew which dessert house to visit even before deciding where to go for lunch. With a variety of options to choose from fruits to chocolates, who am I resist such temptation? And if you haven't tried gelato yet, I highly recommend Gelatissimo.

Gelatissimo

See the lovely interior in their Trinoma branch, the painted red walls made everything more vibrant. Let me tell you, it felt like there were angels around singing when the staff handed me the small spoon for the free taste. So heavenly! ^^

Gelatissimo

Unlike ice cream, gelato is made of milk and sugar only, cream is the exception. It easily melts too so you need to finish it quickly to enjoy it. Among the brilliant variants, I picked Pistachio, Chocolate dip and Strawberry Cheesecake.

Gelatissimo

Presenting my Sundae to go with chocolate and cherry toppings. Nyum! I think I picked the right combination. Before, I remember mixing all the fruit selections and it made my sundae a bit sour.

Gelatissimo

This cup size costs me Php230, don't worry about the price because it's already good for sharing.

Gelatissimo

Visit the nearest branch now and try it first with their small samplers. Discover the consistency of their gelatos and have fun with your favorite flavors. That's two thumbs up for me and I'm sure for you too!

Much Love,

Happy Birthday at TGIFridays

Despite a rainy Tuesday in Manila caused by the tropical storm "Helen", hubby and I still pursued to have a little date to celebrate his 32nd birthday. Mom and Daphne were of course originally included in the plan but it would be safer to just let the little one stay at home to avoid the sickness causing weather. Since we missed going to the North, we put a lot of effort just to get to Trinoma, plus the shoes that I promised as a birthday present is kind of hard to find so we had to search all the stores that cater the product.

It was almost 3pm when we were finally exhausted and hungry so when I saw TGIFridays, I didn't have second thoughts and scurried in. Good thing the restaurant has a lot of seats available.

Their ambiance has been proven to set a distinction, I feel so American for a while. Here, I don't really mind eating my food with some group of people enjoying their beers even at late noon.

Notice the waiter behind me? For years, they have been consistently wearing cute head gears paired with black pants and that striped red and white shirt. Sometimes they also wear silly costumes. By the way, I also want to share this candy pink lipstick I'm wearing from M&Co. That's a cheap haul during the SM North EDSA sale event.. I really like it!

For appetizers, we chose their traditional Buffalo Wings, marinated in spicy sauce with a few carrot sticks. The cheese dressing is perfect! 6pcs costs Php295.

Since I'm used to ordering Cajun Chicken and Shrimp pasta, I tried to experiment this time with the rice meals. My main dish was Mushroom Chicken and Mushroom - I love the melted mozzarella cheese on it . The rice serving is almost good for two which I wasn't really expecting because I only chose the small order for Php395.

Look at this humongous plate! Hubby chose Jack Daniel's Chicken and Shrimp (Php565). That's a juicy fire-grilled chicken breasts in sweet glaze plus the Cajun-spiced fried shrimp. The shrimp was really tasteful although hubby didn't quite like the sweet sauce for the chicken. (The menu should have a brief description, I think.)

I was really laughing at this huge plate. It's almost the size of his body width! Nevertheless, it was a fun dining experience in Fridays (as I normally call it) with these generous servings. Best of all, we get to celebrate his birthday together even on a working day.

Happy birthday, Daddy! Thank you for being the sweetest father to Daphne and a thoughtful husband to me. Let's not look at the calendars starting today, alright?

( He didn't really want a photo taken kasi he's wearing the same shirt daw ^^ )

Yakimix Trinoma

It was my first time to dine at Yakimix when the Esteban's (Kuya Rick, Ate Hazel - Diony's sister and baby Enzo) came home from the US for a month long vacation. Christmas just passed at that time and I've seen a lot of friends who had their reunions at Yakimix Mall of Asia. It was nearly my due date and I'm pretty sure I can't endure going there so I was really happy when I saw their branch in Trinoma. Like I said, my tummy is about to pop that time so I'm closely monitoring my food intake but when Ate Haze asked where we want to eat, I don't know why I gave it as an option, considering that it is a buffet. LOL

I must say that they have a spacious dining area, more of a hotel-like experience, and offers a feast for Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Their grilled meat choices, vast sushi selection and neat smokeless table grills makes their place more enjoyable for all occasions.

One thing though, they have a company policy which do not allow to take close up photos of the buffet. But once you've taken your food to your table, you can then do all you want. I asked hubby to take photos for me. Carrying a DSLR is burdensome with my prenatal weight, and perhaps, I just want to fully enjoy my food. Ha ha!

As far as I can remember, I took a lot of desserts but forgot to take photos.
It was a "cheat" day for me!

I felt so bloated and I just keep laughing looking at my empty plate. I can't even finish my drink. And of course, what makes the experience more special is a time well spent with the family. We can't tell when will be the next although it's something to look forward to because we will soon enjoy it with the kids. It is such a blessing to become a part of a growing family. Thank you, Lord.
